About the Project

A year ago, we had the idea to restore the Arman Cinema's crown - a unique decorative element that crowned the facade of the building, but was dismantled and destroyed in the early 2000s. In the process, the project would change its shape and change us, too.

Arman Alma-Ata. Origins

The "Arman Alma-Ata" project was born 5 years ago through the efforts of a group of architects, "AtomikArchitecture", along with the producer Nargiz Shukenova and the graphic designer Dastan Bisenov. The aim of the project was to start a discussion on the importance of preserving the city's architectural heritage.
